Town Highlighted as Top Chronicle Brunch Spot

This week the San Francisco Chronicle published an article on the best brunch spots in the Bay Area, and San Carlos’ most famous restaurant, Town, was included in the list of 23 restaurants. The Chronicle has been historically biased against restaurants outside of the city and within the larger Bay Area, but that is becoming less so under current restaurant critic Soleil Ho (who replaced Michael Bauer in 2019) — so it’s good to see the San Carlos shout out (although we still argue not enough attention is paid to the great culinary options in San Carlos and the Peninsula in general).

Only the last third of the Town blurb mentions the brunch menu, but it appropriately highlights the consistently good food, service, and location. Despite a brief closing after the start of the pandemic (and a brief stint as a pop-up and take-out only place shortly thereafter), Town is back to more than full strength, with consistent crowds almost every day of the week, both inside as well as their expansive outdoor dining area. The restaurant no longer takes reservations, so expect lines on peak days and times.
