Piacere to Close

Piacere to Close

Along with Town, Piacere has been one of the main anchors on Laurel Street for almost three decades. According to a story published today in the San Mateo Daily Journal, Piacere closed as of September 29th. The article states that owner Tony Gundogdu confirmed that he sold the restaurant and that new owners plan to soon open a steak place in that location.

Piacere was home to many great lunches and dinners for our family over many years, and Tony was always warm and welcoming, so we’ll miss them! But the restaurant has both a great space and a great location, so it is a prime opportunity for a new owner to make it’s mark on San Carlos.

  1. Piacere was always the place with a touch of class. From the well-groomed and friendly servers, to the full bar and live band on selected nights, you could always have a positive experience when dining there. Sorry to see this classy restaurant close.
